Laundry worker

Menasha, WI

Hiring multiple employees on a temp-to-hire basis for the routine manual work in the operations of laundering equipment and extractors. The work involves a variety of miscellaneous tasks to assure that soiled laundry will be cleaned and returned in a sanitary condition. The working environment is both bot and moist. General supervision is received from a superior who checks the work by observation of results obtained.

Essential Functions:

1. Receives and sorts cloths and linens according to fiber, color, and soiled condition.

2. Operates washers and dryers in accordance with safety standards.

3. Supplies recommended quantities of detergents and bleaches.

4. Folds, wraps, or places on hangers, completed laundry.

5. Maintains laundry room and equipment in a clean and orderly manner.

6. Makes minor repairs to items; i.e. replace buttons, mend torn clothes and linens.

7. Performs related work as required.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

1. Some knowledge of standard laundry equipment and methods

2. Some knowledge of the use and care of standard commercial washing equipment

3. Ability to follow oral and written instructions

4. Ability to operate or readily learn to operate washers and extractors

5. Skill in the operation of laundry equipment.

Physical Demands

This is an active position, employee will regularly be required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and frequently lift or move items over 30 pounds.

Hours and Pay

Hours are dependent on position. Both full-time, part-time, week-day, and week-end hours are available. Pay starts at $10 per hour.
