We are hiring 7 seasonal employees for a food processing plant in Manitowoc, WI. Housing is available for male employees. The following positions are available:
Inspect raw product as instructed.
Remove weeds, thistle heads, beans with ends, discolored vegetables and other foreign substances from the product.
Trim ends off root crops when necessary.
Discard unacceptable material in the proper containers.
Report excessive foreign substances in product to Mechanic immediately.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Must be able to work independently with little supervision.
Notify supervisor immediately if any unsafe or potentially hazardous conditions are discovered.
May perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Management
Adhere to all company policies and procedure.
Seasonal Quality Control
Perform weight check and a defect check on cans every 15-20 minutes. .
Grade product and record findings for blemishes, mechanical damage, long/short pieces, and foreign material.
Measure salt content every 20 minutes.
Monitor and record temperatures, times, pressures, and water level every 15 minutes from the cooker(s).
Monitor and record temperatures from the blanchers.
Monitor and record the can cleanliness and damage.
Measure sanitizer level in water from different sources.
Measure and record the PH of the water.
Cleaning and sanitizing of lab and lab equipment.
Must be comfortable keeping accurate records by writing on paper forms or entering data into an I-Pad form.
